The Snake
Disclaimer: I do not like slimy pets. I like fuzzy ones, like dogs and birds. Yes birds are fluffy. Our parrot Patrick has soft feathers that are warm when he nuzzles up to my face. Snakes? I am not a fan of snakes.
I had a dream that we had a pet snake in addition to Patrick. I carried it around and held it and everything, like I do with Patrick. I was playing with the snake, and maybe I got distracted with something or fell asleep, because when I went to look for the snake, it was gone from where I left it. I thought... oh, crap. Where is my snake. I found Deb and Parth napping with their heads underneath a Papasan chair (the wood cane chairs formed in circles, with a base and top dish that has a cushion, like at Pier One). Don't ask me why their heads were under the chair. But there they were, sprawled on the floor, with their heads meeting in the middle under the base, under the chair. And there was my snake, nestled in their hair where their heads met. As I approached them, who by the way, did not know yet that I had a pet snake, they stirred and I said "don't move" and naturally, Deb moved and shrieked when she spotted what I was reaching in to take from between them.... and I said "sorry, very sorry." And that was all.
