Corvette Wreck
A November 2005 dream...
Amy Zajack called me on my cell phone to say she was having a good time on a vacation trip in Pakistan. And I responded that I was not having as good a week, because I drove to the mall and ended up getting in a lot of trouble.
I got to drive a borrowed Corvette, and the engine power was proving to be some trouble for smooth acceleration. So I was distracted, and it was night so I couldn't see, and I thought a wide sweeping driveway was a ramp to the mall but it ended up being a huge pedestrian stairway... so what I had done was drive the Corvette down a staircase, stopping midway on a smooth landing. I was instructed to go no further and some car people on the scene said I had caused about $900 in damage to the underside of the vehicle. And I said, "but it's borrowed..."
Man. Good thing I woke up.
My brain has been really active in sleep lately!
The Storage Room & Moat
I had another house dream. Lots of doors and cool rooms. Kinda like a labryrinth. I forgot some already, but the one I remember most is the file room. It appears that David brought some file boxes home with stuff from childhood (for real)... maybe Tom and Diane had them before. And when I was checking out the file room in our new house (the one in the dream), I was thinking "hey, David can put that stuff right here... in these empty file cabinets". It was a long narrow room, lit by recessed lighting. Walk in the room, and the whole left side was lined with file cabinets. The stone grey color. About halfway down the long room, it widened a bit and revealed other storage. There was actually a "hair thing" cabinet. A wood chest, about dresser size, with pullout drawers that had inserts with slits that would hold barrettes and other hair things.
There were other specialty cabinets. I was so excited and could hardly wait to move in. Then, there was a door at the end of the room and I went out. I was in a marble hallway with doors that lifted up and down like Soo Locks. They were wet. I was now a young girl [huh?] in this house and there was another girl there. I asked "Who are you?" and she said "I'm you're sister".
[huh?] She was an adopted sister. Looked at me kinda queerly, like girls in movies that turn bad. "Do you want to see the moat?" "okay", I said. One of the marble doors slid up and out of place to let us out. There was indeed a lot of land back there. And there was a moat. She walked right up to the waters edge as if teasing it and I backed away, thinking wow... she could slip in the water. Then she led us out over the grass, alongside the moat. Then I heard people screaming. I turned back, and water was rushing right across where the grass was, toward the moat. I ran back toward the people who were reaching out to grab me. Water pushed me closer and closer to the moat. Finally I was grabbed to safety, and we went into the marble doors that closed down as water rushed over the marble. There was some comment as to who should know when the tide was coming in. Since I was the newcomer, the other girl should have known. Don't know where she went. I went back into the file room door and I was now my adult self, thinking about how I would use this file room and how we wouldn't have clutter anymore. I showed David the file cabinets I had found.
Then I was really mad when I woke up and realized I had no file room! Those boxes David brought back are real. They are downstairs. And I really liked that accessory chest.
